Kathy currently is working with Revive Media Services as a content writer.

ECPRO will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 11:30 until 1 p.m. Regent Ducas, owner of Power Web Videos will speak on how to grow your business with a video marketing strategy. The public is invited to attend.

The Lake DeFuniak Toastmasters will hold an Open House Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 11:30 until 1 in Room 103, Northwest Florida State College, DeFuniak Springs. As Club President, Kathy will inform guests of the benefits of being a Toastmaster. Member Stanley Donald will speak on his Toastmaster experience. Refreshments will be served from 11:30 until noon. The meeting will end promptly at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend and learn about Toastmasters.

It's speech contest time in Toastmasters. The Area 52 and 53 contests will be March 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Café Bienville in Niceville. The speech topics will be Humorous and International (motivational or inspiring). The Division E contests will be April 11 at the Holiday Inn on Okaloosa Island beginning at 10 a.m.

Kathy will be attending the District 77 Toastmasters spring conference May 1-2 in Huntsville, Ala.

2014 News

Kathy edited a true crime investigative report, A Forgotten Man. The report centered around a young man who was convicted of murdering a storekeeper in rural Alabama and sentenced to death row. His sentenced was later changed to life when it was determined that a 17-year-old could not be sentenced to death according to Alabama law. Author Alex Ashton became interested in the case and decided to investigate. During the course of his investigation, Ashton believes he uncovered the true murderer. In the meantime, the young man is now 53 and running out of appeals.

In late 2013, Kathy wrote numerous articles for the UWF newsletter, The Quest.

Kathy always donates to the NALC Food Drive. This typically takes place the Saturday before Mother's Day in May. Please donate a few cans to help fill the area food pantries.

Kathy was recently the target speaker for the Area 54 International Speech Contest at Café Bienville in Niceville. She will be the Contest Master for the Area 53 International and Evaluation Contests on April 6 at the Air Armament Museum near Eglin AFB.
